On April 17, 2023, 20-34 million dollars of gold bars and cash were stolen from the Air Canada cargo bay at the

Pearson International Airport in Toronto. The heist was covered by news outlets around the world. To date, 9 have been arrested, and other warrants have been issued. There is a great deal of speculation as to what happened to the gold, where it ended up, and what it was used for. To date $5.3 million has been spent on the investigation, and expectations are that the amount will exceed $10 million.
