Topic: Bomb Girls: Trading Aprons for Ammo
Barbara Dickson will present on the remarkable efforts and profound sacrifices made by nearly 800,000 Canadian women employed in munitions factories during the Second World War. Her talk will highlight not only their heroic contributions to the war effort but also the severe dangers they faced daily. These women worked with hazardous chemicals, often with minimal or no safety measures in place, leading to significant personal risk and long-lasting effects.
